Mr. Perry said that he’d learned
tough lessons from his failed 2012 White House bid. But, apparently, he didn’t
learn enough to keep his foot out of his mouth.
Speaking in San Francisco on
Wednesday night, Gov. Perry may not have realized that he did not have the home-court
advantage when he made a point of comparing homosexuality to alcoholism.
Addressing the Commonwealth Club
of California, Perry said "Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a
particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that. I
may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have
the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same
way."
So, by that logic, if you’re a
gay alcoholic, you’re just 24 steps away from recovery.
